
Sources’ Research is a project of theatrical practice, research and preservation directed by Abani Biswas, Jerzy Grotowski’s collaborator from 1979 to 1983, and the artists of Milón Méla group at the workcenter Khele Danga-Theatre House (West Bengal, India).
The workshop deeps into the basic principles of some of the most ancient performative disciplines of India (Dhrupad Singing, Kalarippayattu Martial Art, Baul Music) and the theatrical and paratheatrical methods passed down by Grotowski (Theatre of Sources techniques). During practice, the following aspects will be developed:
- psycho-physical techniques for the inner awakening
- memory and skills of the body and its energy centers
- observation of breathing and mental processes
- transparent awareness
- perception-flow-concentration
- music-singing-emotion

The work, 6-7 hours a day, will be physical, very energetic and intense.
